Performance
How bright is the light, and what area does it cover?
The arm-mounted LED lights deliver up to 16,000 lm. At the recommended operating height of 10 m, the effective illuminated area can reach 1,000 m², measured at a 3 lx boundary.
How long can the drone fly?
In tethered mode, an external mains supply can provide continuous power through the ground unit. Its built-in 9,600 mAh battery can support approximately 45 minutes of flight.
What is the maximum operating height and tether length?
The standard tether is 12 m long. The recommended maximum operating height is 10 m to balance lighting coverage and flight safety.
Is it waterproof or dustproof? Can it fly in rain?
The aircraft has an IP4X protection rating and is not waterproof. Keep it away from water to prevent damage. If rain begins during flight, land as soon as possible and wait until the aircraft and ground unit are completely dry before using them again.
Operation & control
How is the drone controlled?
FLOAT X1 supports control through the EXI Fly app and the ground control unit. The app allows remote operation, settings changes and status checks.
Does it have a follow mode?
Yes. In intelligent follow mode, the airborne light moves with the ground unit. This is useful for mobile repairs and other moving work sites.
Does it support automatic takeoff, landing and tether retraction?
Yes. One-touch automatic takeoff and landing are supported, with stable hovering after takeoff. The ground unit can automatically retract the tether during takeoff and landing or if the connection to the aircraft is lost.
Which phones support the app, and where can I download it?
EXI Fly is available for Android and iOS. Search for it in the relevant app store or scan the QR code in the product manual.
Safety & maintenance
What happens if external power is lost during flight?
The ground control unit has a backup battery. If external power is interrupted, it switches to backup power to support a safe landing. The system also provides alerts for abnormal conditions.
What routine maintenance is required?
After use, remove surface dust from the aircraft and ground unit, then store both in a dry place. No complex routine maintenance is required.
What should I do if the tether becomes worn?
The tether has undergone repeated winding and unwinding tests. Wear should be minor under normal use. If its outer jacket becomes damaged over time, contact after-sales support for replacement.
Compliance & support
Is registration or a pilot licence required?
In China, civil drones must be registered as required. Operators of micro and light civil drones generally do not need a pilot licence, but must know how to operate the aircraft and comply with local airspace and flight restrictions. Requirements depend on the aircraft’s actual classification and the rules in force where it is flown.
